Institut Kemajuan Desa, more commonly known as INFRA (Institute for Rural Advancement), operates under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah – KKLW). Established in 1996, INFRA was created as a strategic institution to lead training and development initiatives for rural management in Malaysia. Its inception marked the realization of a vision first initiated by Malaysia’s second Prime Minister, the late Tun Haji Abdul Razak bin Hussein, in the early 1960s. His focus was on improving the livelihoods of rural communities through comprehensive strategies, including education, infrastructure development, and community empowerment.
