Why KETENGAH Needed a Digital Signage Solution

KETENGAH, an agency under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, is responsible for the economic and social advancement of the central interior regions of Terengganu. This vast area includes many remote and rural communities, making timely and consistent communication a major challenge.

Traditionally, KETENGAH relied on printed materials, community briefings, and verbal announcements to reach their audiences. While effective in the past, these methods proved inadequate for fast-paced updates and wide outreach. Recognizing this limitation, KETENGAH took a strategic leap toward modernization by adopting a digital signage solution—a reliable and scalable tool to broadcast messages, programs, and alerts to the public in real time.

Deployment of Our Customized Digital Signage System

In January 2022, we had the honor of supplying and commissioning a fully customized digital signage solution for KETENGAH. The deployment included the powerful Media Player RK3288 and our robust CDMS (Content Delivery Management System) in a self-hosted environment. This setup ensured that KETENGAH had full control over their content distribution while maintaining secure access and data independence.

Our system allowed KETENGAH to centrally manage and schedule multimedia content across multiple digital screens positioned in strategic locations. The intuitive CDMS interface enabled their internal teams to upload and update information without requiring specialized technical skills—making the solution practical and sustainable for day-to-day operations.

With this system, KETENGAH could now broadcast:

• Community service announcements

• Health and safety campaigns

• Local program and training schedules

• Public service messages and alerts

• Ongoing development project updates

The ability to instantly modify content and ensure its accuracy across all displays was a major improvement over traditional methods. The interface also supported rich media formats—images, videos, and slides—making communication more engaging.

Impact of the Digital Signage Solution on Community Engagement

The results of the implementation were immediate and impressive. The digital signage solution allowed KETENGAH to streamline its communication efforts and drastically improve how information reached local communities. Real-time updates enabled faster decision-making and better public responsiveness, particularly during time-sensitive initiatives or urgent announcements.

The vibrant, multimedia nature of the signage attracted more attention than static posters. Messages were now clearer, more appealing, and more likely to be noticed and remembered by the public. As a result, community engagement with KETENGAH’s programs and events improved significantly.

This transformation also strengthened KETENGAH’s presence in rural areas by demonstrating their commitment to digital innovation and accessible communication. It empowered communities with information that was once difficult to distribute consistently.
