Client : Carlsberg Malaysia | Project Date : 13-Mar-2022

Temperature Scanner Solution for Safer School Environments Across Malaysia

In the wake of growing concerns over health and safety, especially in public and educational institutions, innovative solutions for contactless screening and access management have become more crucial than ever. One such advancement is the implementation of smart temperature scanner systems equipped with facial recognition capabilities. These systems not only enhance safety but also provide a seamless user experience for large crowds, ensuring both security and efficiency in monitoring.

Our temperature scanner solution is a Linux-based, high-performance infrared temperature detection system integrated with a powerful face recognition camera module. Designed for speed and accuracy, the system is capable of real-time temperature measurement and facial identification within seconds. This makes it an ideal tool for managing personnel access and tracking attendance in high-traffic areas. It is a truly smart, automated solution that reduces human dependency, minimizes physical contact, and ensures swift operation.

The device can be effectively integrated with access gates, attendance systems, and turnstiles, making it suitable for use in a wide range of public service environments such as communities, office buildings, schools, hotels, tourist destinations, transportation hubs, and other locations with high foot traffic. Built with scalability and user-friendliness in mind, it delivers a comprehensive solution for managing both health safety protocols and access control.

Project Background

This project involved the Supply and Commissioning of 600 units of the ARV FS01 Automatic Temperature Scanner, each equipped with a high floor stand and advanced face recognition software. The goal of the project was to enhance safety and monitoring in schools throughout Malaysia as part of an extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

What made this initiative even more significant was the generous sponsorship by Carlsberg Malaysia Group, a well-known brewer with a long-standing presence in Malaysia since 1969. As part of their community outreach and health-conscious CSR program, Carlsberg took the initiative to sponsor and distribute the temperature scanners to selected schools across the nation, including schools in Sabah and Sarawak.

A total of 300 schools were selected to benefit from this initiative. Each school received two units of the ARV FS01 scanner, ensuring coverage at multiple entry points. This large-scale distribution highlights Carlsberg’s commitment to supporting public health and safety, especially in educational institutions where young students need the highest level of care and protection.

The ARV FS01 scanner was chosen for its reliability, quick response time, and its ability to perform dual functions – temperature scanning and facial recognition. This ensures that not only are individuals screened for elevated temperatures, but their presence is also logged for attendance or access control purposes. The implementation of this technology in schools greatly reduces the need for manual temperature checks and offers a more organized approach to daily school operations.
