Temperature Scanner Solution for the Malaysian Prison Department

In response to the growing need for enhanced public health and safety measures, especially in high-security and high-traffic environments, our advanced Temperature Scanner Solution offers a reliable, efficient, and integrated system designed to support access control and attendance management. Utilizing the latest in thermal imaging and facial recognition technologies, this solution ensures seamless monitoring while minimizing physical contact and manual processes.

At the core of this system is our Linux-based infrared temperature measurement device, the ARV JT66K, a state-of-the-art scanner developed to deliver rapid and precise temperature detection. Equipped with a built-in high-resolution face recognition camera module, the device is capable of identifying and verifying personnel even while wearing masks—an essential feature in today’s safety-conscious environments.

This intelligent terminal goes beyond basic temperature scanning. It functions as a complete personnel access management system, integrating smoothly with access gates, attendance systems, and facility management platforms. Whether deployed at the entrance of a building, within a security checkpoint, or at the gates of a restricted area, the solution ensures that only authorized individuals with safe body temperatures are granted entry.

Designed for flexibility and scalability, the temperature scanner can be deployed in various environments such as office buildings, educational institutions, hospitals, hotels, factories, transportation hubs, tourist attractions, and other public or private facilities. Its fast detection speed, non-contact scanning, and automated entry control features make it a preferred solution for organizations prioritizing both health and operational efficiency.

Project Background

Under the initiative for enhanced facility safety and modernization, our company was entrusted with the Supply and Commissioning of Automatic Temperature Scanner systems for the Malaysian Prison Department (Jabatan Penjara Malaysia). This project aimed to improve security measures at detention centers while ensuring strict adherence to health protocols during personnel movement in and out of the premises.

The scope of the project involved the delivery and installation of four (4) units of ARV JT66K temperature scanners, each equipped with a high floor stand for optimal placement and visibility. These units were also supplied with the facial recognition software module, enabling them to accurately verify identity while simultaneously performing body temperature detection.

Our team conducted a comprehensive commissioning process, ensuring all devices were configured according to the unique requirements of the client. This included calibration, software setup, integration with existing access control systems, and user training for on-site staff to ensure smooth daily operation.

About the Client: The Malaysian Prison Department

The Malaysian Prison Department, or Jabatan Penjara Malaysia, operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is tasked with the management, administration, and rehabilitation of offenders sentenced by the courts. The department oversees correctional institutions across the country, which also function as detention and recovery centers.

Headquartered at the Malaysia Prison Complex in Kajang, Selangor, the department is situated within the Klang Valley and serves as the central administrative body for all prison-related activities nationwide. Security, order, and discipline are critical in these environments, making it imperative to implement solutions that maintain safety while streamlining personnel movement and monitoring.

As a vital arm of the country’s internal security system, the department is continually upgrading its infrastructure to meet international standards in safety, rehabilitation, and human rights. Our temperature scanning and facial recognition solution supports this mission by providing an additional layer of automated monitoring and security, crucial during post-pandemic operations.

Conclusion

The successful implementation of our Temperature Scanner Solution at the Malaysian Prison Department demonstrates our commitment to delivering smart, secure, and health-conscious technologies for mission-critical operations. Our advanced ARV JT66K units provide not only accurate temperature scanning but also serve as intelligent terminals for facial recognition and access control—making them an indispensable part of modern facility management systems.

We are proud to support public institutions like the Jabatan Penjara Malaysia in their efforts to maintain a safe, efficient, and technologically forward environment for staff, visitors, and the community.
