Temperature Scanner Solution – Putrajaya Hospital
Arvia Solutions is proud to have successfully supplied and commissioned an advanced Temperature Scanner Solution for Putrajaya Hospital, a leading public hospital located in Malaysia’s federal administrative capital.
Project Overview
The solution deployed involved the installation of 1 unit of ARV-FS02 Temperature Scanner, mounted on a high floor stand and equipped with state-of-the-art face recognition software. The scanner is designed to ensure efficient, contactless, and automated body temperature detection while simultaneously performing facial recognition for access and attendance control.
This solution supports personnel access management, making it suitable for integration with access gates or turnstiles. The system can also be adapted for time attendance purposes, contributing to a seamless and hygienic check-in process at public service facilities. The primary objective of this project was to enhance safety protocols and improve entry management efficiency within a high-traffic healthcare environment.
About the Temperature Scanner
The ARV-FS02 Temperature Scanner is a Linux-based, super-fast infrared measurement detector integrated with a built-in face recognition camera module. It is engineered to provide quick and accurate temperature readings and identification, reducing manual labor and limiting contact between personnel — especially critical during health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key features include:
- High-precision infrared temperature sensor
- Contactless, real-time facial recognition
- Seamless integration with access control systems and attendance software
- Instant alerts for abnormal temperature readings
- Adjustable height floor stand for ergonomic installation
This technology is ideal for deployment in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, tourist spots, and public transportation hubs, ensuring only individuals with normal temperature readings can enter the premises.
Client Profile: Putrajaya Hospital (HPj)
Putrajaya Hospital (HPj) is a major public healthcare institution located in Precinct 7, Putrajaya, Malaysia. It operates under the purview of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and is situated on a sprawling 27.2-acre (11.0 ha) site. The hospital plays a crucial role in providing medical services to residents, government personnel, and visitors in Malaysia’s federal administrative hub.
Construction of the hospital began in 1998 with a total investment of RM283 million, and it began phased operations starting 1 November 2000. Over the years, the hospital has undergone various expansions and improvements to better serve the growing population.
Originally launched with 278 beds, Putrajaya Hospital increased its capacity to 341 beds in 2012 following the opening of the Low Risk Maternity Centre in Precinct 8. In January 2018, the hospital further increased its capacity and now operates with 369 official beds.
A key differentiator for Putrajaya Hospital is its advanced use of digital systems. Located in Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), the hospital is a model of modern healthcare management and is among the first to fully implement the Full Hospital Information System (HIS). This digital transformation enhances the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of patient care, records, and operational workflow.
Impact and Benefits
The installation of the ARV-FS02 Temperature Scanner supports the hospital’s commitment to advanced healthcare technologies and digital solutions. The device plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for both healthcare workers and patients by:
- Minimizing physical contact during temperature checks
- Reducing manpower dependency at entry points
- Providing instant alerts for high temperatures
- Enhancing the hospital’s existing digital infrastructure
With growing concerns around infectious disease control and staff safety, automation tools such as the ARV-FS02 contribute significantly to infection prevention measures while maintaining smooth daily operations.
Conclusion
Arvia is honored to be a part of Putrajaya Hospital’s journey toward becoming a safer and smarter healthcare institution. The successful commissioning of the ARV-FS02 Temperature Scanner is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, practical, and reliable solutions for public safety and facility management. We look forward to continuing to support healthcare facilities across Malaysia with modern technology designed for the challenges of today and the future.
